An electronic franking machine comprising a printing device for printing fixed data and variable data for franking an item of mail moving over a transport route (6) between an entrance (7) and an exit (8) of the machine, the printing device comprising a first rotary drum (2) rotated by a first motor (222) for the printing of main franking data, a second rotary drum (4) rotated by a second motor (422) and carrying several selectable printing blocks for the printing of auxiliary franking data onto the said item, and a control means for operating the second motor so as to print the impression of a selected printing block at a chosen position on the item. <IMAGE>

Une machine à affranchir électronique comprenant un dispositif d'impression pour l'impression de données fixes et de données variables d'affranchissement sur un article de courrier se déplaçant sur un chemin de transport (6) entre une entrée (7) et une sortie (8) de la machine, le dispositif d'impression comprenant un premier tambour rotatif (2) entraîné en rotation par un premier moteur (222) pour l'impression de données principales d'affranchissement, un second tambour rotatif (4) entraîné en rotation par un second moteur (422) et portant plusieurs clichés sélectionnables pour l'impression de données auxiliaires d'affranchissement sur ledit article, et un moyen de commande pour actionner le second moteur de façon à imprimer l'empreinte d'un cliché sélectionné à une position choisie sur l'article. <IMAGE>
