Serving for packaging products, in particular vessels containing liquids, for absorbing leaked, viscous liquids, and for sound-proofing, thermally insulating and shock-absorbing is a material made of straw (1) which has been ground and compressed to form ground-straw blocks (15). This material can be used as a filler material for packagings of products and for cavities in building construction or in machinery. It can be produced in that straw is ground into powder and the powder is compacted by compressing it to form ground-straw blocks which are broken up into pieces with an irregular outer surface, the ground-straw blocks being subjected to coarse grinding to break them up. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Zum Verpacken von Gütern, insbesondere Flüssigkeiten beinhaltenden Gefäßen, zum Aufsaugen von ausgelaufenen dickflüssigen Flüssigkeiten und zur Schall-, Wärme- und Stoßdämmung dient ein Material aus Stroh (1), das aus gemahlenem und zu Strohmehlbriketts (15) gepreßtem Stroh (1) besteht. Dieses Material ist als Füllmaterial für Verpackungen von Gütern und für Hohlräume in Baukonstruktionen oder in Geräten verwendbar. Es kann dadurch hergestellt werden, daß man Stroh zu Mehl vermahlt und das Mehl durch Pressung zu Strohmehlbriketts verdichtet, die man zu Bruchstücken mit unregelmäßiger Außenfläche zerteilt, wobei man für die Zerteilung die Strohmehlbriketts einer Grobmahlung unterwirft. <IMAGE>
