[origin: EP0605727A1] A process for the high-speed spinning of polyester fiber with remarkably reduced fluffing and yarn breakage to give a package with an excellent put-up in a stabilized manner, wherein the polyester is spun at a spinning rate of 3,000 m/min or above while applying thereto an aqueous emulsion of a spinning finish mainly comprising a monobasic acid ester having an average molecular weight of 300 to 500 and containing (a) 1-15 wt.% of a polyoxyalkylene glycol copolymer having an average molecular weight of 1,000 or above and (b) 0.1-3 wt.% of an organosiloxane compound or a fluoroalkylated compound.
