Process for marking plastics, in which a base material which is provided with a sublimable dyestuff is pressed against the plastic to be marked and in which the plastic surface is provided with coloured characters or symbols by means of a laser emitting in the visible wavelength range (wavelength 532 nm). As a result, abrasion-resistant coloured characters or symbols of high resolution are obtained.

Verfahren zur Beschriftung von Kunststoffen, bei dem ein Trägermaterial, das mit einem sublimierbaren Farbstoff versehen ist, gegen den zu beschriftenden Kunststoff gepreßt wird, bei dem mittels eines im sichtbaren Wellenlängenbereich emittierenden LASERs (Wellenlänge 532 nm), die Kunststoff-Oberfläche mit farbigen Zeichen versehen wird. Dadurch werden abriebfeste farbige Zeichen mit hoher Auflösung erhalten.
