[origin: WO9402204A1] Apparatus for microwave thermal treatment comprising a probe, a microwave antenna support structure for locating the antenna within the probe near a distal end thereof, the support structure comprising means engaging the probe at a proximal end thereof and adjustment means for effecting controlled relative movement between the engaging means and the support structure whereby to adjust the longitudinal position of the antenna relative to the probe. The support structure further comprises a duct which together with the interior of a disposable catheter forming the probe provides a means of circulating coolant through the catheter externally of the structure.

Appareil de traitement thermique aux micro-ondes comportant une sonde, une structure support de l'antenne micro-ondes permettant de placer ladite antenne à l'intérieur de la sonde, près de son extrémité distale. La structure support comprend des moyens de mise en contact avec la sonde à son extrémité proximale, ainsi que des moyens de réglage pour effectuer un mouvement relatif contrôlé entre les moyens de mise en contact et la structure support, permettant ainsi de régler la position longitudinale de l'antenne par rapport à la sonde. La structure support comprend également une gaine qui, avec l'intérieur d'un cathéter jetable formant la sonde, permet de faire circuler du liquide de refroidissement à travers le cathéter à l'extérieur de ladite structure.
