[origin: EP0607066A1] The invention relates to a humidifier which is fixed to the electric convector by a magnetised metal connection and which utilises the heat produced by the convector to bring about the evaporation of the water. The humidifier consists mainly of a high-strength plastic tank which is open at the top part via a slot over the entire length of the tank and permits the passage of a band of baize which is permanently wet as a result of immersion in the water of the tank. The passage of the air which is heated by the convector through the wet baize brings about the evaporation of the water into the atmosphere. Filling of the tank is carried out via a plugged orifice which is situated at the rear of the humidifier and prevents, for safety reasons, filling on the convector. The humidifier has a handle on each side for easy handling and a float which indicates the water level. <IMAGE>
