Die Erfindung betrifft eine Anordnung zur Reinigung einer Backofenmuffel (M) mit einer an der Stirnseite des Backofens angeordneten Öffnung, mit einem Muffelboden (MB), mit Muffelseitenwänden (SL, SR) und einer Muffelrückwand (MR). Die Backofenmuffel (M) weist in ihrem Bodenbereich eine Wanne (W) für die Aufnahme eines Reinigungsmittels (R) auf. Die Wanne (W) ist insbesondere durch den Muffelboden (MB), durch die Muffelseitenwände (SL, SR) und die Muffelrückwand (MR) im Bereich des Muffelbodens sowie durch eine separate, mit der Muffel (M) verbindbare Wandung (MW) gebildet. <IMAGE>
