The invention relates to a rail guard comprising, for each of the front wheels of a vehicle on rails, an elongate support (2), a first end of which is rendered integral with the front axle of the vehicle by fastening means, and an impact component (4) placed in front of the wheel (13) and close to the rail, the impact component being fastened to an energy-absorption device (3) fastened to the second end of the elongate support, characterised in that the elongate support is produced from a composite material, the energy-absorption device (3) being located on the support (2) so as to offset the centre of gravity of the rail guard (1) with respect to the vertical plane passing through the rail. <IMAGE>

L'invention concerne un chasse-pierres comprenant, pour chacune des roues avant d'un véhicule sur rail, un support allongé (2) dont une première extrémité est rendue solidaire de l'essieu avant du véhicule par des moyens de fixation, et une pièce d'impact (4) placée devant la roue (13) et à proximité du rail, la pièce d'impact étant fixée à un dispositif d'absorption d'énergie (3) fixé à la seconde extrémité du support allongé, caractérisé en ce que le support allongé est réalisé en matériau composite, le dispositif d'absorption d'énergie (3) étant disposé sur le support (2) de manière à décaler le centre de gravité du chasse-pierres (1) par rapport au plan vertical passant par le rail. <IMAGE>
