[origin: EP0607853A2] In a rolling mill (1), the rolls (2, 3) (only two are visible in Figure 1) have, at their ends, product guides (19) and guide faces (12) which are adjacent thereto and which, at the ends of the rolls, guide the product towards converging nip of the rolls. The guide face 12 is pivotable by means of a cylinder/piston unit 16 out of the operating position shown in Figure 1 into an emptying position, in which foreign bodies which have accumulated on the guide face 12 can be removed through an opened flap 24, located underneath the latter, into a container 46. <IMAGE>
