[origin: EP0607870A1] This steam ironing device includes an electric iron (1) comprising a heating plate (5) and a vaporisation chamber (6) made in the plate (5), closed by a metal lid (8) and communicating with the outside via outlet orifices (7); an independent steam generator (2) and a steam supply hose (3) connecting the generator (2) to the vaporisation chamber (6) of the iron via a steam duct (16). According to the invention, the steam duct (16) is a rigid metal tube, one end (17) of which is directly connected to the hose (3), and the other end (18) of which emerges in the vaporisation chamber (6) of the iron while being fitted in a leaktight manner into an opening (19) pierced in the lid (8) of the vaporisation chamber of the iron. <IMAGE>
