Abstract (en)
The device (1) for opening envelopes possesses a stationary clamping part to which is connected a knife support (3) for a knife blade (4) which lies stationary. This blade is flush with the upper side of the knife support and forms the envelope rest. Moreover, a knife support (5) for a movable knife blade (6) is pivotably connected to the first knife support and can be actuated by a moulded-on handle. The knife blade is fixed obliquely in the longitudinal direction by its broad side to a bearing surface of the movable knife support. Furthermore, the knife support for the movable knife blade is mounted on the knife support for the stationary knife blade in a manner such as to be capable of limited resilient movement. The movable knife blade is arranged vertically relative to the knife blade which lies stationary. The cutting angle is identical at each cutting point, and the movable knife blade is twisted in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>

Die Vorrichtung (1) zum Öffnen von Briefumschlägen besitzt ein stationäres Klemmteil, mit dem ein Messerträger (3) für ein stationär liegendes Messerblatt (4) verbunden ist. Dieses ist mit der Oberseite des Messerträgers bündig und bildet die Briefumschlaganlage. Ferner ist ein mit diesem Messerträger schwenkbar verbundener, durch einen angeformten Handgriff betätigbarer Messerträger (5) für ein bewegliches Messerblatt (6) vorhanden. Das Messerblatt ist mit seiner Breitseite an einer Auflagefläche des beweglichen Messerträgers in Längsrichtung schräg befestigt. Weiter ist eine begrenzt bewegliche, federnde Lagerung des Messerträgers für das bewegliche Messerblatt am Messerträger für das stationäre Messerblatt vorgesehen. Dabei ist das bewegliche Messerblatt gegenüber dem stationären, liegenden Messerblatt stehend angeordnet. Der Schneidwinkel ist an jeder Schneidstelle gleich und das bewegliche Messerblatt ist in Längsrichtung verwunden. <IMAGE>
