[origin: EP0608166A1] A mail-processing machine comprises a mechanical jogging device between a destacking head (3) and a conveying path (1) for a stack (2) of items of mail. The jogging device comprises inclined rollers (8) driven in rotation so that an item of mail from the stack which overhangs above the rollers can fall on its edge, under gravity, on the rollers and be driven towards a jogging edge (7) while being moved towards the destacking head through the effect of the rotation of the rollers in order to come substantially into contact, via its free face, against the destacking head. <IMAGE>
