The invention relates to a metallic powder for making wear-resistant surface layers by means of a thermal spray process, which powder consists of one or more transition metals, in particular predominantly of nickel or iron, and in each case chromium as alloy element and which, in addition, contains at least one metalloid, especially boron, carbon, silicon or phosphorus. The characterising feature of the powder is that the powder grains contain occlusions which consist of sintered particles derived from the particular metalloid. The invention also relates to a preparation process for the powder and to a preferred application technology.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein metallisches Pulver für die Erzeugung von verschleißfesten Oberflächenschichten mittels einer thermischen Spritzmethode, welches aus einem oder mehreren Übergangsmetallen, insbesondere überwiegend aus Nickel oder Eisen, und jeweils Chrom als Legierungselement besteht und welches außerdem mindestens ein Metalloid, insbesondere Bor, Kohlenstoff, Silicium, oder Phosphor, enthält. Das kennzeichnende Merkmal des Pulvers besteht darin, daß in den Pulverkörnern Einlagerungen enthalten sind, die aus, aus dem jeweiligen Metalloid abgeleiteten, Hartpartikeln bestehen. Ebenso bezieht sich die Erfindung auf ein Herstellungsverfahren für das Pulver sowie auf eine bevorzugte Anwendungstechnik.
