[origin: EP0608533A1] Wet-press arrangement, in which the flexible press cover (18) of a shoe-press roll (7) picks up the web (2) to be dewatered at a first press point (5), directly from the wire (1) on which the web has been formed. The web then runs together with the press cover (18) through a second press point (8) which is designed as a felted and extended press nip. Thereafter, the web runs through a third press point (14), where it is transferred from the smooth envelope surface of the press cover (18) onto the smooth envelope surface of a press roll (15). The web then runs with the latter through a fourth press point (24), which is again designed as a felted and extended press nip. After this, the web (2) still follows the press roll (15) as far as a pick-up point. <IMAGE>
