[origin: EP0608761A1] The invention relates to coach bodywork, in particular for railway coaches for passenger transport. The floor 1, the side walls 2 and the roof 3 are composed of basic profiles 9a, 9b, 9c. They have webs 17 which protrude from the plate 18 and have flanges 20 which have flange faces 21. The basic profiles 9a, 9b, 9c are formed as extruded profiles. Accordingly, the webs 17 run parallel to one another. The webs and the flange faces 21 serve to attach load-bearing covering panels 10. Insulation can be attached between the covering panels 10 and the plate 18 of the basic profile 9b. All the installations, for example electric lines 50, can be initially attached after welding the basic structure consisting of floor 1, longitudinal member 4, side wall 2, upper chord 5 and roof 3 and their basic profiles 9a, 9b, 9c. Subsequently, after the insulation has been fitted, the covering panels 10 can be appropriately attached. A simple and lightweight body is obtained which is entirely self-supporting. <IMAGE>
