[origin: EP0608776A1] The plastic cartridge has a cartridge body (23) which is provided with a flange (84) and has a plastic sleeve body (16), open on one side, for receiving a propelling charge (60) and an ignition charge (52) for igniting the propelling charge (60), and a plastic cover (20) for closing the open end of the sleeve body (16). The flange (84) is situated at the cover-side end of the sleeve body (16). When the cartridge body (23) is inserted into the shooting device, the flange (84) runs in an interspace which leads out of a receiving space of a cartridge bearing (92) and is formed by the cartridge bearing (94) and a closing base (96) of the shooting device. The flange (84) of the cartridge body (23) is tapered in that section in which it runs in the direction of propagation of the shockwave produced upon ignition of the propelling charge (60), at least over a part of this section - in the direction of propagation. The flange (84) thus forms a wedge which is inserted into the wedge-shaped interspace between cartridge bearing (94) and closing base (96). Loads occurring in the direction of the flange (84) are transmitted by the wedge to cartridge bearing (94) and closing base (96) and removed. As a result of this wedge-gap action material extrusions in the flange region can be prevented, even in the case of plastics. <IMAGE>
