[origin: EP0608782A1] The invention proposes a powered handtool for applying fasteners (101) which, in a hand-guidable constructional unit (100), has a drive part (1) with an impingement means (6) drivable by the latter, and also a mouthpiece (3). The impingement means, which passes through the mouthpiece, is displaceable relative to the latter and the fasteners can be fed to the mouthpiece by a separator (11). To control the feeding of the fasteners into the mouthpiece, the invention provides a control device (105, 24, 25), arranged outside the constructional unit, and a motional connection (8) between an actuating part (105) of the control device and the mouthpiece or the drive part is provided. The tool furthermore has, outside the constructional unit, a further drive part (12, 19, 20) for displacing impingement means and mouthpiece relative to one another, the further drive part being connected to the mouthpiece or to the drive part in a manner transmitting tensile and/or compressive force. <IMAGE>
