[origin: EP0608796A1] The present invention relates to a pressure and suction distributor for a high-pressure cleaning apparatus with low-pressure lines, in which water is fed to the high-pressure pump, and high-pressure lines, which run from the high-pressure pump to a spray nozzle, and with a control valve which is provided along the high-pressure lines to allow these to be shut off or opened selectively. In order to delay a pressure build-up in the high-pressure lines (2, 8) during the start-up process of the pump motor, the high-pressure lines (2, 8) in the pressure and suction distributor according to the invention are connected via a bypass line (14) that can be closed in a pressure-controlled manner to the low-pressure lines (6). Provided along this bypass line (14) is a bypass valve (9, 10, 11, 12, 13) which, as a function of the pressure, opens or closes a flow path (14) between the high-pressure lines (2, 8) and the low-pressure lines (6). <IMAGE>
