Abstract (en)

A polishing and cleaning device is used in particular to polish and clean silverware and jewelry and employs a rotatably driven polishing drum, in which the article to be polished is arranged, along with balls and a soapy solution. Assuming that the polishing drum is rotationally driven in the Z direction, the walls of the polishing drum have, in the Y direction, a greater axial distance from the axis of rotation than the axial distance of the walls in the X direction by way of comparison. Consequently, upon rotation of the polishing drum the objects to be polished undergo an acceleration effect in the Y direction and the polishing balls undergo an eccentric circulation, which leads to a favourable polishing effect. <IMAGE>

Ein Polier- und Reinigungsgerät dient insbesondere zum Polieren und Reinigen von Tafelservice und Schmuck und verwendet eine drehbar angetriebene Poliertrommel, in welcher das Poliergut zusammen mit Kugeln und einer Seifenlauge angeordnet ist. Unter der Annahme, daß die Poliertrommel in Z-Richtung drehend angetrieben ist, ist vorgesehen, daß die Wandungen der Poliertrommel in Y-Richtung einen größeren Achsabstand zur Drehachse aufweisen als vergleichsweise der Achsabstand der Wandungen in X-Richtung. Damit kommt es bei der Drehung der Poliertrommel zu einem Beschleunigungseffekt der Polierkörper in Y-Richtung und zu einer exzentrischen Umwälzung der Polierkugeln, was zu einem günstigen Poliereffekt führt. <IMAGE>
