[origin: EP0610584A1] The invention relates to a fuel injection device for pilot and main injection of different fuels. For this purpose a single-needle injection valve (9) of comparatively simple design, a specially functioning injection pump (1) and external means of control (19, 38, 40) are provided, by means of which, on completion of one injection, refilling of pilot injection fuel and main injection fuel can be performed with the aim of fuel stratification in the injection valve (9). <IMAGE>
