[origin: WO9407008A1] Described is a method for the removal of electrically conducting particles from a stream of gas, the method calling for the gas stream to be passed through a filter (20), thus separating the particles out from the gas. The particle-contaminated filter (20) is subsequently regenerated in situ by subjecting the particles (26) to a spark discharge and/or short arc discharge for a length of time such that the particles ignite and are thus converted by combustion into gaseous compounds. The device designed to carry out the method has a filter (20) through or past which the gas stream flows, at least two electrodes (2, 3, 4) associated with the filter plus at least one counter-electrode (5, 6) designed to generate the spark and/or arc discharge, that at least two electrodes (2, 3, 4) and the at least one counter-electrode (5, 6) being connected to a suitable power source.

On décrit un procédé pour l'élimination de particules électriquement conductrices dans un courant de gaz, selon lequel on fait passer le courant de gaz à travers un filtre (20) et on sépare ainsi les particules du courant de gaz. Ensuite, on régénère en mode permanent le filtre (20) chargé en particules (26) en appliquant aux particules séparées (26) des décharges d'étincelles électriques et/ou des décharges d'arc électrique de courte durée jusqu'à ce que les particules s'enflamment et qu'ensuite les particules enflammées soient transformées par combustion en composés gazeux. Un dispositif correspondant pour l'exécution du procédé présente un filtre (20) traversé partiellement ou entièrement par le courant de gaz, au moins deux électrodes (2, 3, 4) associées au filtre ainsi qu'au moins une contre-électrode (5, 6) servant à produire la décharge d'étincelle et/ou d'arc électrique, les électrodes (2, 3, 4), au nombre de deux au moins, ainsi que les contre-électrodes (5, 6), au nombre d'une au moins, étant reliées à une source de courant correspondante.
