[origin: WO9309741A1] An absorbent article having improved strikethrough, rewet characteristics, and feel is disclosed. The absorbent article has a topsheet comprising a nonwoven material (24) and apertured thermoplastic film (26). The apertured thermoplastic film is treated with a surfactant preferably by incorporating the surfactant into the resin used to make the thermoplastic film. The combination of the nonwoven material and the surfactant-treated apertured thermoplastic film permit liquids to rapidly penetrate the topsheet while preventing liquid in the absorbent core of the article from flowing back through the topsheet. The nonwoven material provides the topsheet with improved, less plastic-like feel.

L'invention décrit un article absorbant possédant des caractéristiques améliorées de pénétration, de réhumidification et de confort. L'article absorbant comporte une feuille de couverture composée d'un matériau non tissé (24) et d'une pellicule thermoplastique pourvue d'ouvertures (26). Ladite pellicule est traitée avec un tensioactif en incorporant, de préférence, celui-ci dans la résine utilisée dans la fabrication de la pellicule thermoplastique. La combinaison du matériau non tissé et de la pellicule thermoplastique pourvue d'ouvertures et traitée au moyen du tensioactif permet aux liquides de pénétrer rapidement à travers la feuille de couverture tout en empêchant le refoulement du liquide situé dans la partie centrale absorbante de l'article à travers ladite feuille de couverture. Le matériau non tissé améliore le confort de la feuille de couverture en atténuant la sensation de contact avec un matériau plastique.
