[origin: GB2260796A] A method of fitting underfloor pipes (4) comprising cutting a notch (2) in a joist (3) and retaining the pipe in the notch by means of a pipe retaining element (1). The pipe retaining element comprises a channel (7) configured to loosely retain the pipe (4) and a securing means (8) to fix or retain the element in the notch. The pipe retaining element (1) further comprises an upper flat supporting surface (6), substantially level with the upper surface of the joist (3) to provide support to the floorboards overlapping the notch (2). The upper surface (6) preferably comprises a metal plate. designed to shield the pipe (4) and to prevent damage of the pipe by nails or the like. <IMAGE>
Abstract (fr)
Procédé d'ajustage de tuyaux se trouvant sous le plancher (4) qui consiste à découper une encoche (2) dans une solive (3) et à maintenir le tuyau dans l'encoche à l'aide d'un élément de maintien (1). L'élément de maintien comprend un canal (7) configué pour saisir le tuyau (4) et un moyen de blocage (18) pour fixer ou maintenir l'élément dans l'encoche. L'élément de maintien (1) comprend de plus une surface supérieure plate (6) parfaitement alignée avec la surface supérieure de la solive (3) de façon à supporter les planches recouvrant l'encoche (2). La surface supérieure (6) comprend de préférence une plaque métallique, conçue pour protéger le tuyau (4) et éviter les dégâts qui pourraient lui être causés par des clous ou éléments similaires.
