[origin: EP0615797A1] A straightening (levelling) machine (1), particularly for straightening (levelling) sheet and strip, with offset upper and lower levelling rollers (11, 13) which are supported over their length by means of back-up rollers (12, 14) supported, for their part, on crossmembers (4, 5) and arranged in roller frames (6, 7), at least the upper crossmember being adjustable by means of adjusting cylinders (8) in order to position the levelling rollers, and with compensation cylinders (17, 18) arranged between the roller frame and the crossmember, allows pivoting adjustments if the upper roller frame (6) and the upper crossmember (5) are designed to buckle in the feed direction of the stock to be levelled and if buckling points (19, 20, 21, 21') are provided in a plurality of planes situated one above the other. <IMAGE>
