Abstract (en)
Process for treating cast iron with lamellar graphite intended for the manufacture of camshafts, according to which the said cast iron is heated to melting temperature before extracting, after decanting, the oxides from the cast iron, characterised in that 0.001 % to 0.02 % by weight of a deoxidising element is introduced into the cast iron bath before the casting with the aim of obtaining cast iron with lamellar graphite with a low oxygen and nitrogen content.

Procédé de traitement d'une fonte à graphite lamellaire destinée à la fabrication des arbres à cames selon lequel on porte à la température de fusion ladite fonte avant d'extraire après décantation les oxydes de la fonte, caractérisé par le fait que l'on introduit avant la coulée dans le bain de fonte 0.001% à 0.02% en poids d'un élément désoxydant dans le but d'obtenir une fonte à graphite lamellaire à basse teneur d'oxygène et d'azote.
