A codable connector having a plug part and a socket with an insertion opening, especially for communications technology. A coding plate is provided on the insertion opening, which coding plate has a recess with at least one projection, and at least one recess is provided on the plug part, which recess interacts with the projection on the coding plate. Kodierbarer Steckverbinder mit einem Steckteil und einer Buchse mit einer Stecköffnung, insbesondere für die Kommunikationstechnik. An der Stecköffnung ist eine Kodierplatte vorgesehen, die über eine Ausnehmung mit wenigstens einem Vorsprung verfügt, und an dem Steckteil ist wenigstens eine mit dem Vorsprung der Kodierplatte zusammenwirkende Ausnehmung vorgesehen. Die Kodierplatte (1) ist ein dünnes Metallplättchen, das auf die mit der Stecköffnung (12) versehene Stirnwand der Buchse (10) auflegbar ist. <IMAGE>
