Abstract (en)
A process for the dehalogenation of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons had to be developed in which in a closed circulation, avoiding a pyrolytic reaction, the halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons are dehalogenated and the residues, without environmentally harmful effect, are fed to expedient reuse or can be stored in a standard landfill. This was achieved by a process which can be carried out on an industrial scale by hydrothermally treating solids containing halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons in aqueous suspensions or solutions at temperatures of 150 to 330@C for 5 to 200 minutes.

Es war ein Verfahren zur Dehalogenierung von halogenierten aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen zu entwickeln, bei dem in einem geschlossenen Kreislauf unter Vermeidung einer pyrolytischen Reaktion die halogenierten aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe dehalogeniert und die Rückstände ohne umweltschädigenden Einfluß einer sinnvollen Wiederverwertung zugeführt werden oder auf einer normalen Deponie gelagert werden können. Dies gelang in einem großtechnisch durchführbaren Verfahren dadurch, daß halogenierte aromatische Kohlenwasserstoffe enthaltende Feststoffe in wässrigen Suspensionen oder Lösungen bei Temperaturen von 150 bis 330 °C 5 bis 200 Minuten hydrothermal behandelt werden.
