Lid seal for a container opening (1) which is surrounded by an sealing surface (2), comprising a deformable sealing ring (3) which can be compressed between the lid (4) and the sealing surface (2), the sealing surface (2) being arranged on a projection (5), the sealing ring (3) being arranged in a groove (6) which has a cross-section that widens in the direction of its opening, it being possible to bring the surfaces bounding the groove radially (6) in the direction of the sealing ring (3) into engagement with the projection, and there being an annular gap between the sealing ring (3) and at least one of these surfaces in the uncompressed state, this gap having an overall volume which is essentially equal to the volume of the sealing ring (3) displaced when the sealing ring (3) is pressed into sealing contact with the sealing surface (2). <IMAGE>

Deckeldichtung für eine Behälteröffnung (1), die von einer Dichtfläche (2) umschlossen ist, umfassend einen verformbaren Dichtring (3), der zwischen dem Deckel (4) und der Dichtfläche (2) verpreßbar ist, wobei die Dichtfläche (2) auf einem Vorsprung (5) angeordnet ist, wobei der Dichtring (3) in einer Nut (6) angeordnet ist, die einen in Richtung Ihrer Mündung erweiterten Querschnitt hat, wobei die die Nut radial(6) in Richtung des Dichtringes (3) begrenzenden Flächen mit dem Vorsprung in Eingriff bringbar sind und wobei zwischen dem Dichtring (3) und zumindest einer dieser Flächen im unverpreßten Zustand ein ringförmiger Spalt vorhanden ist mit einem Gesamtvolumen, das im wesentlichen ebenso groß ist wie das sich bei einer dichtenden Anpressung des Dichtringes (3) an die Dichtfläche (2) ergebende Verdrängungsvolumen des Dichtrings (3). <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
