[origin: EP0620043A2] The apparatus according to the invention comprises a support (1) in the form of a box which is open at the top and at the bottom, a substantially horizontal rotor (6) mounted inside the box and carrying at least one knife (13) which rotates with it passing between mating knives (15), an active face of which points towards the rotor, and preferably exhibits teeth, these mating knives being capable of moving independently of one another and having their own return means, for example swinging on a pivot (12) parallel to the rotor. Means for setting the mating knives into forced swinging may be provided. The mating knives may be removed individually. <IMAGE>
