In an internal combustion engine (10) with a crankshaft (12) vertical in a normal position, at least one overhead camshaft (16) and a transmission (60) between crankshaft (12) and camshaft (16) with plane of motion inside a transmission chamber perpendicular to the crankshaft axis (14), it is proposed to design the transmission chamber (70) as an oil reservoir in such a way that in the normal position and in some inclined positions of the engine a section of the transmission (60), at any one time situated at the lowest point, is immersed in the oil, in order thereby to achieve reliable engine lubrication. <IMAGE>
Abstract (de)
Bei einem Brennkraftmotor (10) mit einer in einer Normallage vertikalen Kurbelwelle (12), wenigstens einer obenliegenden Nockenwelle (16) und einer Transmission (60) zwischen Kurbelwelle (12) und Nockenwelle (16) mit zur Kurbelwellenachse (14) senkrechter Bewegungsebene innerhalb eines Transmissionsraumes, wird vorgeschlagen, den Transmissionsraum (70) als Öl-Vorratsraum auszubilden, derart, daß in der Normallage und ggf. in Schräglagen des Motors ein jeweils am tiefsten gelegener Abschnitt der Transmission (60) in den Ölvorrat eintaucht, um auf diese Weise eine zuverlässige Motorschmierung zu erhalten. <IMAGE>
