[origin: US5519907A] A device for relieving the skeletal muscles, especially for the neck and lumbar vertebrae, comprises a mat of foam material with transverse ribs projecting on the upper side and most of the ribs standing obliquely towards the foot side and a foam pillow with transverse ribs projecting on the upper side and most of the ribs standing obliquely towards the head side. The divergently oblique transverse ribs of both foam sections stretch the spine in two opposite directions and increase the space between the vertebrae to release and soothe pinched nerve ends and overstressed disks.

Le dispositif pour détendre lles muscles du squelette, en particulier au niveau des vertèbres cervicales et lombaires, comprend un matelas mousse avec, à sa surface, des nervures transversales obliques allant dans la direction du côté pied, ainsi qu'un oreiller en mousse avec, à sa surface, des nervures transversales allant dans la direction du côté tête. Ces nervures obliques divergentes des deux parties en mousse étirent la colonne vertébrale dans deux directions opposées et agrandissent l'espace intermédiaire entre les vertèbres, ce qui dégage et soulage les extrémités des nerfs coincées et les disques soumis à des sollicitations excessives.
