[origin: WO9315231A1] A machine for forming the taphole of a tank furnace in order to apply the lost rod method. The machine includes a housing (20), a drive (42, 44), and a clamp (34) for coupling the drive to the rod (26) while it is being withdrawn. A pusher (34) imparts a pushing force to the rear end of the rod (26) while it is being inserted into the taphole clay. Meanwhile, intermediate guides (55i) surround the rod (26) at several points and are successively placed in a position in which they do not hinder the advance of said pusher (34, 78) on the housing (20).

On propose une machine de perçage d'un trou de coulée d'un four à cuve pour l'application du procédé de la tige de perçage. La machine comprend un affût (20), un moyen d'entraînement (42, 44), une pince (34) pour accoupler le moyen d'entraînement à la tige (26) lors de son extraction. Elle est caractérisée par un organe-poussoir (34) transmettant à l'extrémité arrière de la tige (26) ledit effort de poussée lors de l'introduction de la tige (26) dans la masse de bouchage et par des guides (55i) intermédiaires cernant la tige (26) à plusieurs endroits lors de l'introduction de la tige (26) dans la masse de bouchage. Lesdits guides (55i) étant successivement placés dans une position dans laquelle ils ne gênent pas l'avancement dudit organe-poussoir (34, 78) sur l'affût (20).
