[origin: WO9314912A1] A cutting device comprises an annular cutting member (6) provided with a flat drive face (8) on one side of a diametral plane, by which the cutting member (6) is attached to an ultrasonic horn (10) providing a source of ultrasonic vibrations. The face (8) is arranged to constitute an anti-node of the device (a portion of maximum displacement), and the centre of the aperture 12 of the member (6) provides a theoretical node (portion of no displacement). The relative values of R1, the radius of the hole of the cutting member (6), and R2, the outer diameter thereof, are selected, in dependency on the physical characteristics of the cutting member itself, such that the member (6) vibrates radially inwardly and outwardly, in a pulsating manner. The member (6) is provided with a circumferential cutting edge (14) subtending an angle of about 180 DEG on the opposite side of the drive face (8) by which a cutting action may be obtained.

Dispositif de découpe comprenant un élément coupant (6) annulaire doté d'une face (8) d'entraînement plate située sur un côté d'un plan diamétral, permettant de fixer l'élément coupant (6) sur un pavillon à ultra-sons (10) constituant une source de vibrations ultrasonores. La face (8) est conçue pour constituer un anti-noeud du dispositif (une partie à déplacement maximum), et le centre de l'ouverture (12) de l'élément (6) constitue un noeud théorique (partie à déplacement nul). Les valeurs relatives de R1 représentant le rayon du trou de l'élément coupant (6), et de R2 représantant le diamètre externe de ce dernier, sont sélectionnées, en fonction des caractéristiques physiques de l'élément coupant, de sorte que l'élément (6) vibre radialement vers l'intérieur et vers l'extérieur, selon un mode pulsé. L'élément (6) est pourvu d'un bord coupant (14) circonférentiel sous-tendant un angle de 180° environ sur le côté opposé de la face (8) d'entraînement qui permet de produire l'action de découpe.
