Device for splicing material webs (50), especially webs of packaging material, in which, in order to splice an initial portion of a new material web (6) to the running-out end portion of an old material web (5), this initial portion of the new material web (6) is joined with an adhesive strip (27) which is received releasably on a pivotable pressure plate (12,13). The pressure plate (12) pivotable into the region of the running-out material web (5) cooperates with a separately pivotable pressure roller (14) which can engage at least partially through a recess (26) of the pressure plate (12), strip off the adhesive strip (27) having the initial portion of the new material web (6) and at the same time press it onto the running-out end portion of the old material web (5). <IMAGE>

Vorrichtung zum Verbinden von Materialbahnen (50), insbesondere Packstoffbahnen, bei der zum Verbinden eines Anfangsabschnittes einer neuen Materialbahn (6) mit dem auslaufenden Endabschnitt einer alten Materialbahn (5) dieser Anfangsabschnitt der neuen Materialbahn (5) mit einem Klebestreifen (27) verbunden ist, der auf einer verschwenkbaren Andruckplatte (12,13) lösbar aufgenommen ist. Die in den Bereich der auslaufenden Materialbahn (5) verschwenkbare Andruckplatte (12) arbeitet mit einer separat verschwenkbaren Andruckrolle (14) zusammen, die zumindest partiell durch eine Aussparung (26) der Andruckplatte (12) hindurchgreifen, den Klebstoffstreifen (27) mit dem Anfangsabschnitt der neuen Materialbahn (6) abstreifen und zugleich an den auslaufenden Endabschnitt der alten Materialbahn (5) andrücken kann. <IMAGE>
