[origin: FR2704044A1] A motor vehicle headlight comprises a source (10), a mirror (20) of the elliptical type, in the vicinity of a first focus of which the light source is located, a lens (40) in front of the mirror and a closure glass (50) in front of the lens. The mirror comprises, in at least one region (22a, 22b), a reflecting surface, each horizontal segment of which reflects the radiation towards a plurality of horizontal convergence points (Fc) located at horizontal positions (h(yc)) which vary as a function of the separation (yc) of the reflection location in question from the optical axis, and each vertical segment of which reflects the radiation coming from the source towards vertical convergence points located in proximity to the said focal plane. The closure glass (50) is essentially smooth or slightly deviating in the horizontal direction. <IMAGE>
