[origin: WO9319128A2] A matrix resin such as a polycarbonate/polyester blend, a polycarbonate, a vinyl aromatic copolymer or an acrylate polymer or copolymer is admixed in a composition with poly(phenylene ether), and/or with a poly(phenylene ether) concentrate containing poly(phenylene ether), polystyrene, a vinyl aromatic copolymer, polyamide, polycarbonate, polyester, poly(alkyl acrylate), and/or poly(alkyl methacrylate). The compositions may also optionally contain additional vinyl aromatic copolymer as a separate component, impact modifiers, thermoplastic molding materials including polystyrene, polyolefin, polyamide, poly(vinyl chloride), polyurethane, poly(methyl methacrylate) and polyacetal, and conventional additives such as dyes and pigments. The compositions when molded, particularly when the poly(phenylene ether) content thereof is low (for example, 5 weight percent or less) show a desirably low gloss, and a desirable balance of other properties.

Une résine matricielle, telle qu'un mélange polycarbonate/polyester, un polycarbonate, un copolymère aromatique de vinyle, ou un polymère ou copolymère acrylate, est mélangée à une composition avec un éther de polyphénylène, et/ou avec un concentré d'éther de polyphénylène contenant un éther de polyphénylène, un polystyrène, un copolymère aromatique de vinyle, un polyamide, un polycarbonate, un polyester, un polyacrylate d'alkyle, et/ou un polyméthacrylate d'alkyle. Les compositions peuvent aussi éventuellement contenir un copolymère de vinyle supplémentaire tel qu'un composant séparé, des modificateurs d'impact, des matériaux de moulage thermoplastique comprenant un polystyrène, une polyoléfine, un polyamide, un chlorure de polyvinyle/un polyuréthane, un polyméthacrylate de méthyle et polyacétal, et des additifs ordinaires tels que des colorants et des pigments. Les compositions, lorsqu'elles font l'objet d'un moulage, et notamment lorsque la teneur en éther de polyphénylène est faible (par exemple, 5 % en poids ou moins), présentent un brillant réduit, et un bon équilibre d'autres propriétés.
