In this gas burner comprising a tubular body (2), the peripheral wall (5) of which consists of two perforated metal sheets (6, 7), internal and external respectively, which are held in contact with one another, the internal metal sheet (6) having holes which have a predetermined diameter while the external metal sheet (7) has holes which have a greater passage section than that of the holes of the internal metal sheet (6), and the spacing of the holes of the external metal sheet (7) and their passage section are such that the assembly of the two perforated metal sheets (6 and 7) of the burner (1) has an overall gas passage coefficient at most equal to 7.8%. <IMAGE>
