[origin: US5429310A] A method and an apparatus for carrying out the method are described which are used for reprocessing waste material accumulating in the production of cigarettes and similar rod-form smoking items, wherein the waste material comprises paper material, tobacco and filter material, wherein the paper material is wrapped around the tobacco, and wherein essentially the following process steps are carried out: the waste material is subjected to a dry mechanical treatment in order to obtain waste material which is broken down and in which the material components of the waste material are separated one from the other, and in particular the paper material is detached from the tobacco or the other material components, and the tobacco is subsequently sifted out of the broken-down waste material. The paper material can be suctioned out of the broken-down waste material after the tobacco has been sifted out.

Beschrieben wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung eines Verfahrens zum Wiederaufbereiten von Abfallmaterial, das bei der Herstellung von Zigaretten und ähnlichen stabförmigen Rauchartikeln anfällt, wobei die verschiedenen Komponenten z.B. Papier, Tabak und/oder Filtermaterial sein können und im wesentlichen die folgenden Verfahrensschritte durchgeführt werden: ein Zerlegungsschritt, bei dem die Körper in einer Mühle in ihre einzelnen Komponenten trocken-mechanisch zerlegt werden, wobei die Körper bei ihrer Zerlegung eine oder mehrere Radialbacken eines Rotors der Mühle, die während des Betriebs am Rotor starr oder beweglich befestigt sind, und eine oder mehrere stationäre Backen eines Stators der Mühle passieren, die während des Betriebs der Mühle starr oder beweglich befestigt sind, und wobei die Radialbacken und die stationären Backen, wenn sie sich gegenüberstehen, voneinander beabstandet sind, und ein anschließender Trennschritt, bei dem die einzelnen Komponenten voneinander getrennt werden. Das Papiermaterial kann aus dem aufgetrennten Abfallmaterial nach Aussieben des Tabaks abgesaugt werden. <IMAGE>
