Abstract (en)

[origin: DE4324423C1] Fire resistant tile cladding for a pipe-carrying furnace wall, where the wall-side surface of the tiles is provided with recesses for the pipes and being novel in that the tiles (5) each have two opposite edges (8, 9) provided with bevels (10) forming steep angles (a) with the wall-side surface (6) of the tiles (5), and that between the bevels (10) on adjacent tiles a wedge-shaped fillet (14) is set in, which tapers towards the wall (1) fitting against the bevels (10) and which is fastened to the wall holding the tiles (5) on the wall (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Protection of walls with adjacent run boiler water tubes from direct flame impingement/corrosion by refractory cladding, e.g. in furnace chamber of a rubbish incinerator. Improved furnace lining fixing technique, with reduced tendency for cracking of the brittle (e.g. ceramic) tiles by over-tightening against the wall during fitting, tube expansion effects during use, etc.

Abstract (de)

<IMAGE>
