A plurality of predetermined powder conveying rates (m) as a first axis of a diagram and a plurality of conveying air rates (FV) as a second axis of a diagram for specific overall air rates (GV) (conveying air and if appropriate supplementary air) are stored in a computer (24) as a calibration plot (50). Dem Förderluftstrom kann noch ein Zusatzluftstrom hinzugefügt werden. In einem Computer (24) sind als Eichdiagramm (50) eine Vielzahl vorbestimmter Pulverförderraten (m) als eine erste Diagrammachse und eine Vielzahl von Förderluftraten (FV) als eine zweite Diagrammachse für bestimmte Gesamtluftraten (GV) (Förderluft und gegebenenfalls hinzugefügte Zusatzluft) gespeichert. Der Computer (24) enthält einen Pulverraten-Sollwert-Eingang (52) zur Eingabe eines gewählten Pulverraten-Sollwertes (m-Soll) und errechnet dafür in Abhängigkeit von der vorbestimmten Gesamtluftrate (GV) die dafür erforderliche Förderluftrate (FV) und die dafür erforderliche Zusatzluftrate und erzeugt in Abhängigkeit von dem Berechnungsergebnis einen Förderluftrate-Sollwert (FV-Soll) und einen Zusatzluftrate-Sollwert (ZV-Soll). <IMAGE>
