[origin: EP0636548A1] In a lining (4) for a container (1) which can be closed by a lid (2), said lining consisting of thin-walled, flexible plastic and its upper edge being provided with an outwardly engaging holding collar (18), a peripheral supporting edge (5) is provided below said holding collar (18), which supporting edge projects inwards and on which a covering (6) rests. The supporting edge (5) can be formed by a drawn-in portion of the lining (4) or by a flange-like, internal connection seam (8) between the holding collar (18) and the lining (4). The covering (6) can be connected non-detachably to the supporting edge (5) or can be pressed onto the latter. <IMAGE>
