Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9321417A1] A roller shutter usable as a Venetian blind has slat-like roller shutter bars (14) similar to Venetian blind slats hingedly linked at their upper zones to articulated links (21, 40) of a traction chain and at their lower zones to articulated links (23, 41) of an adjusting chain. The roller shutter bars (14) are further laterally guided in fixed guiding sections (31). The pins (32) that join the adjusting chain links (23, 41) to the roller shutter bars (14) are spaced apart from the plane in which the hinge pins (30) of the adjusting chain links (23, 41) are located. The pins (16, 30) of the hinges that link the traction chain links (21, 40) and the adjusting chain links (23, 41), as well as the swivelling pins (16) of the roller shutter bars (14), are mutually aligned when the roller shutter is not used as a Venetian blind. This allows the roller shutter to be rolled up without problems in a reduced space and to be used as a Venetian blind with no need for special aids.
