Offenbart wird eine Wasserabführvorrichtung für ein feuchtes oder nasses biegsames Material, insbesondere einen Wischmop, mit einer im wesentlichen vertikal angeordnete Aufnahmeplatte, an deren oberer Endkante das Material aufhängbar ist, und einem vertikal beweglich angebrachten Abstreifer, der eine längliche Lücke bzw. Ausnehmung aufweist, die zur Aufnahme der mit einem material bestückten Aufnahmeplatte bestimmt ist und das in dem Material enthaltene Wasser in einer vertikal abwärts gerichteten Bewegung durch eine seitliche Preßanlage gegen die Platte nach unten abstreift.
