The invention relates to a compressor (1), designed in particular for a gas turbine, which comprises a rotor (3) which at its perimeter is fitted with a multiplicity of rotor blades (5a-d) and is supported so as to be rotatable about a compressor axis, and a compressor casing (2) which surrounds the rotor (3) concentrically, radial play being provided between the outer ends of the rotor blades (5a-d) and the inner wall of the compressor casing (2), the object of the invention being to be able to carry out the warm start without a loss in efficiency. This is achieved by, in order to reduce the fluctuations of radial play, the compressor casing (2) being designed so as to be heatable and being connected to a separate heating appliance (22, 25, 27) which is independent of the operation of the compressor and by means of which the casing can be heated in the event of a warm start. <IMAGE>

Bei einem insbesondere für eine Gasturbine vorgesehenen Verdichter (1), der einen an seinem Umfang mit einer Mehrzahl von Laufschaufeln (5a-d) besetzten, um eine Verdichterachse drehbar gelagerten Rotor (3) umfasst, sowie ein Verdichtergehäuse (2), welches den Rotor (3) konzentrisch umgibt, wobei zwischen den äusseren Enden der Laufschaufeln (5a-d) und der Innenwand des Verdichtergehäuses (2) ein radiales Spiel vorgesehen ist, wird die Möglichkeit des Warmstarts ohne Einbusse im Wirkungsgrad dadurch erreicht, dass zur Verringerung der Schwankungen des radialen Spiels das Verdichtergehäuse (2) heizbar ausgebildet und mit einer separaten, vom Betrieb des Verdichters unabhängigen Heizvorrichtung (22, 25, 27) verbunden ist, mittels derer es bei einem Warmstart aufgeheizt werden kann. <IMAGE> <IMAGE>
