Abstract (en)
[origin: DE4328199C1] Method of drying a workpiece, cleaned with an aqueous cleaning liquid, in at least one chamber, in which method air jets are applied to the workpiece for removing and distributing the cleaning liquid and then the chamber is evacuated for evaporating remaining cleaning liquid. In this method, the workpiece is subjected to the drying method at an initial temperature of at least about 45 DEG C in order to shorten the drying operation, is rotated during the blasting with air jets and is exposed to a vacuum in the chamber during an evaporation period of at least 8 seconds and at most 30 seconds, and furthermore the air pressure in the chamber - starting from atmospheric pressure - is lowered during the evaporation period at least essentially continuously down to a minimum value of approximately 4 mbar to approximately 0.5 mbar. The subject matter of the invention is also a drying apparatus having a chamber for accommodating the workpiece, in which blast nozzles for blasting the workpiece are arranged. Such an apparatus, which leads to a low level of noise generation and can be operated with little expenditure of energy, is distinguished by an air circuit containing the chamber, its nozzles, at least one blower and a dehumidifier as well as by a work carrier which is rotatably mounted and can be rotationally driven in the chamber.
