Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0640705A1] The combing machine contains a can plate (21) and, above this, a coiler (19). A fibre sliver (F) coming from a drawframe of the combing machine is brought forward on a conveyor band (8). The conveyor band (8) runs around a first deflecting roller, which is arranged at the drawframe and which is driven jointly with this, and around a second deflecting roller (11) which is arranged above the coiler (19). Furthermore, a pair of calender rollers (14, 15) is arranged above the coiler (19). The second deflecting roller (11), which is driven by the running conveyor band (8), is coupled to one of the calender rollers (14) via a toothed belt (17). There is therefore no need for any separate drive connections to the calender rollers (14, 15). <IMAGE>
