Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9314836A1] A device for altering pressure distribution over the sliding surface of a ski, e.g. for downhill skiing. The binding area of the ski includes at least one binding element (3, 4) for holding a boot (2), and at least one bearing element (13, 14) engaged by the sole of the boot. The device further includes a stiffening blade (8) extending forwards over the ski from the binding area (5) to where it is rigidly fastened to the ski, a vertically movable sensor (14) contacting the sole of the boot, and a linkage for joining the sensor (14) to the stiffening blade (8) in order to transmit thereto at least part of the vertical downward force exerted by the boot, and detected by the sensor (14), as a force exerted forwards in the horizontal and longitudinal direction of the blade.
