[origin: WO9421909A1] The proposal is for a control system for metering the fuel supply to an internal combustion engine. Depending on the starting temperature, time values TVO and threshold values are predetermined preferably for the engine temperature when idling (XOLL) and when non-idling (XONLL). In a preferred embodiment, after a time depending on the starting temperature, an interrogation is made whether the engine temperature has already reached values which correspond to the stored threshold values for idling and non-idling and, depending upon the response, a changeover is made from control to regulation operation of the lambda regulator.
