Abstract (en)
Process for the environmentally compatible degradation of chemical compounds which contain one or more heteroatoms X, X denoting F, Cl, Br, I, N, O or S, by cleavage of the C-X carbon-heteroatom bonds, characterized in that the chemical compounds or articles in which the chemical compounds are contained are treated with steam in the presence of an aluminium catalyst at 300-600 DEG C.
