Hopper (20) for supplying flat objects, comprising a substantially planar sole plate (26) delimited by a first so-called falling edge (24) adjacent to means (14, 17) for conveying flat objects in a predetermined conveying direction (Da) and by a second so-called gripping edge (6) comprising means (7) for attracting the first object (1) in a pile of flat objects (1, 8, P) located on the said sole plate (26) against the said second edge (6) and displacing this object (1) towards transfer means (16) in a predetermined transfer direction (Dt). The sole plate (26) comprises a first part (27), adjacent to the falling edge (24), and a second part forming a retention zone (21) located close to the said gripping edge (6) and having a high coefficient of friction much greater than that of the first part (27) of the sole plate (26). Magasin d'approvisionnement (20) en objets plats, comprenant une sole (26) sensiblement plane délimitée par un premier bord dit de chute (24) adjacent à des moyens (14, 17) pour acheminer des objets plats selon une direction d'acheminement (Da) prédéterminée et par un second bord dit de préhension (6) comprenant des moyens (7) pour attirer contre ledit second bord (6) le premier objet (1) d'une pile d'objets plats (1, 8, P) située sur ladite sole (26) et déplacer cet objet (1) vers des moyens de transfert (16) dans un direction de transfert (Dt) prédéterminée. La sole (26) comprend une première partie (27), adjacente au bord de chute (24) et une seconde partie faisant zone de rétention (21) située à proximité dudit bord de préhension (6) et présentant un coefficient de frottement élevé très supérieur à celui de la première partie (27) de la sole (26).
